The Pismo Beach Premium Outlet Transit Center has joined the FREE trolley-ride experience to Avila Beach . The new service, which begins Nov. 5, allows more riders in the Five Cities and throughout the county to enjoy convenient connections to the FREE hourly service to restaurants, shops, Port San Luis and sea life in Avila Beach. Between 10 a.m., and 3 p.m., on Saturdays and Sundays, riders boarding at the Outlets will travel along Highway 101 to Avila Beach Drive and head through the scenic canyon full of wildlife, natural hot springs and lush vegetation to the community.
The return trip will be a little different with numerous stops that include Avila Hot Springs, the KOA campground and Avila Barn, hotels and downtown Pismo Beach before returning to the Premium Outlets—a stop that connects hourly to South County Area Transit (SCAT) Routes 21 and 24, with limited service to Regional Transit Authority (RTA) Route 10.
See www.slorta.org/avila for a full schedule and list of pickup and drop-off locations. The Avila Beach Trolley is operated by SCAT and it remains FREE thanks to the support of the Avila Beach Community Foundation. The year-round trolley served more than 6,800 passengers last year and is the only free trolley in the county. Service to the popular Friday night Fish and Farmers Market is over for the season and will resume next spring.
